Most answers are below. The rest is one email away.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Underscore and cancel from there. Even if you cancel during the free trial, Plus stays active until the end of the third day.

How do I move my purchase to a new phone?

Tap “Restore purchase” on the Plus screen. Your subscription is valid on every device signed in with the same Apple Account.

The lines in my notebook are gone.

Your notebook is stored only on your device; we have no account system. If you deleted the app or cleared its storage, the lines cannot be recovered, and they are not transferred to a new device automatically.

How do I change the app’s language?

Underscore follows your phone’s language — English, Turkish, German, French or Spanish; any other language falls back to English. To read it in a different language, change it for this app only under Settings → Apps → Underscore → Language.

Are the quotes copyrighted?

Every line comes from a work first published in 1929 or earlier, in the public domain in the United States and the European Union. The translations you read are Underscore’s own, made from the original text. Each card names its author and work.

I found a mistake in a quote.

Write to us and include the source; we will check it and fix it. Accuracy is the foundation of this product.

Where does the Feed come from?

The Feed gathers headlines from established literary publications. Underscore shows the headline and a short summary, always names the source, and opens every story on the publisher’s own site.

The widget shows an old day.

Widgets refresh on iOS’s own schedule and normally catch up within minutes. Opening the app refreshes it immediately; if it seems stuck, remove the widget and add it again.
